The Makeup Addict Tag

I was tagged by the lovely Sal from Ummbaby Beauty blog who is such an amazing person and blogger. Which product do you still keep buying more of despite having plenty in your collection?

I am ashamed to say I actually have two products that I just can’t get enough of- Eyeshadows and Foundations. I was quite good on the Foundation front until very recently when I went a little overboard. For eyeshadows, I have been going a bit crazy since last year especially as many new eyeshadow palettes were launched. I've not counted my foundations yet but I know I have more than 20 including backups. With eyeshadows, I definitely have way too many including palettes, quads, duos and even single ones.

What’s the products you can’t live without?

I don’t really think there is any product I can’t live without but there are two products that I would choose over any other makeup product- Eyebrow products and Concealer. Eyebrows really frame the face and mine are super sparse so I would always do my brows. My favourite brow duo are the Soap and Glory Brow Filling Pencil in Hot Chocolate and MAC Fluidline Gel in Dip Down. I have some hyper pigmentation around my cheeks which are my absolute bug bear so I need to conceal them. My current favourite concealer is the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer in SC7.

Favourite Makeup Brand

This was a super hard question for me because I love various products from different brands. I had to narrow it down to three (I am sorry I couldn't decide on one). My first is By Terry because all the products are very high quality and I just feel very classy whenever I use them. The second will have to be Laura Geller because I enjoy using all her products as they work on a variety of skin tones and are super pigmented. Last but not the least is MAC because it was one of the first mid-high end brand I tried and the quality has remained amazing. MAC is a reference point for many other brands and I love the wide variety of products and shades to choose from.

How big is your Makeup Collection?

It is very ridiculous as I type. I am super lucky that I get so many products from amazing brands to try. I give out a lot of my makeup to family, friends and charity but I still have a lot. I just love makeup, okay? Don’t judge me. I keep thinking I should film an updated makeup collection video (I just might do). The above picture was taken almost two years ago as my collection has changed a whole lot so I definitely think I need an updated post.

How do your store  your Makeup?

Majority of my makeup on my desk are stored in Muji Acrylic storage devices (sounds fancy right?) which are loved by many bloggers and beauty lovers. They are so handy to have and easy to clean as well. I also store some of my makeup in a small IKEA storage cabinet underneath my desk and the rest in my wardrobe (I have a large wardrobe so I split two shelves for makeup and beauty). I am not satisfied with my storage options yet and I am so tempted to buy the infamous IKEA Alex Drawer. I can't really justify it for now and I don't have a lot of space either.

How many items have you got in your handbag at the moment?

I don’t think I carry too much in my handbag/makeup bag (hehehe) because I prefer to use long lasting makeup.  However, I will stock up my makeup bag if I am going out after work. You can find a post on the contents of my makeup bag here. At the moment, I just have concealer, powder, blush/bronzer, lip palette, perfume, etc.

If you could raid another Blogger’s stash, who would it be?

Hmmm this was a tough one because there are so many bloggers I would love to raid their stash but I think I love Nitraab’s stash the best. I don’t know if she has a blog (she has Tumblr) but she does amazing videos and I just love her channel. We have similar complexions and skin types so I lap up every recommendation from her. It’s so nice finding someone who has very similar skin features as you. If I want to try something new especially foundation, I just Google the product and add her name. She has one of the best makeup stashes I have seen and I would love to raid it.

How long does your usual Makeup routine take and how many products do you use?

I am assuming usual is like a work day for me and I think it takes me about 20 minutes. I know it may sound like too much time but it’s just what works for me. Sometimes, it may be less but I am just using the maximum time. It’s very different during the weekend as I just take my time!! I actually use quite a bit of products looking back now. I use the following products- brow pomade and pencil, concealer, foundation, mascara, eyeliner, blush, powder, contour, eyeshadow and lipstick.

Have you ever bought Makeup knowing you won’t use it?

Nah, I don’t have that sort of money at my disposal. I have been sent products that I know I would never use e.g. foundation and concealer shades that are too light for my complexion. Most times, these are PR samples which I did not know would be sent to me. I would usually tell PRs not to send a release if I know there are limited shades and it won't suit me (I hate to waste products). That's it folks!!
