Valentines Day Gift Ideas
The second week in February is usually characterised with Valentine's Day. I don't know if it's just me but I feel like the hype around Valentine's day appears to have reduced compared to what it was in past years. I have never really been one to celebrate on Valentine's Day but it does not mean I hate it. On the contrary, it's rather sweet to see people happy to share their love especially first loves and first dates. I don't go out on Valentine's Day because everywhere seems to be crowded. I am more of an indoor girl and I love to just have a relaxed day/evening and of course, pamper myself. I have put together a little Valentine's Gift Guide featuring some gifts which are amazing as gifts for yourself, a friend, loved one, etc. This can also serve as wish list for any future gifts you may want or as a pamper treat with the girls.
Personalised Gifts from I Just Love It
I am a huge fan of anything personalised and I am sure I am not alone on this one. It just makes a gift 1 million times more amazing and it always feels super special to me. It shows a lot of thought and effort has been put into a gift and I always cherish all the personalised gifts I have. I was incredibly lucky to be asked to choose some personalised gifts from I Just Love It and I was more than delighted. They are a UK based Personalised Gifting Brand who specialise in beautiful personalised gifts for all occasions. As it was Valentine's day, I decided to choose a Valentine Themed Gift because why not. Honestly, they have a wide range of products to choose from and I spent a pretty long time trying to choose what I want because everything looked so lush. I would be talking about them more in another post but I wanted to show you what I was kindly sent. I am still waiting for two more items so I can write a more detailed post on everything. Meanwhile, you can follow them here on Instagram, Facebook Page, Twitter, Pinterest. If you are planning a wedding, preparing for Mother's day or any other occasion, this is the place to check out for amazing personalised gifts.
I Just Love It Personalised Rose Wine and Chocolates* (£34.99)// Link
The first item I chose was the Personalised Rose Wine and Chocolates (£34.99) which is one of my favourites. I rarely drink except during Christmas or special occasions such as Valentine's Day. It comes in a really beautiful red gift box that's well made and can be used for storage once everything has been eaten/drunk. The box is lined with a lovely red (silk-like) material which makes it look so luxurious. The Rose Wine (my computer won't let me write the correct 'e' for Rose) is personalised with my name which I adore. I have not opened it yet but I know I would absolutely enjoy it. When I am done with the Rose Wine, I would fill the bottle with some pebbles for decoration because I would not want to throw this away. If you are wondering, my full name is Chiamaka and which is why I chose it instead of Liv as many of you know me as. The chocolate/truffles look so delicious and I have been restraining myself from devouring it. It is also beautifully wrapped and it can even serve as a gift on its own. I have to mention that everything was well packaged for delivery and there was no damage to the glass bottle or even the chocolates which I am super impressed with.
I Just Love It Personalised Tree Cushion Cover* (£10.99)// Link
The second item I chose was the Personalised Tree Cushion Cover which I am currently obsessed with. It would be featuring a lot on the blog as a prop and also on my YouTube Videos. I chose the personal message- "I love all my blog readers". I know it's a super cheesy thing to write on a cushion cover but I mean every single word it. My blog is one of my happy places and you lot make it even more of a happy place for me so Thank You so much!! The Tree Cushion Cover is made from a really good material that can easily be washed/laundered as it is white. I have not used it a lot yet but it looks so pretty on my bed!! I love the white background mixed with the red tree and I know it would make a perfect gift for anyone. I have to say it also fits really well into standard size cushions which I am pleased about.
Personalised Nutella from Selfridges// £4.99 // Link
I actually bought this last year and forgot to include this in my Christmas Gift Guide posts. I don't know why this Nutella Jar makes me happy but it does and I am not even a crazy fan of Nutella (it's still full). I bought this personalised jar for everyone in my family (except my Mum). They all loved it and I can't imagine anyone not loving this simple but thoughtful and funny gift. I just popped into Selfridges Food Hall (ground floor) and purchased it. It only costs £4.99 and I think if you want a gift box to go with it, the total cost is £7 which is a really decent price for something so cute. I really like it and I know I would keep the jar as well. It took only a 1 minute to make which is perfect for a last minute gift! If you don't have time to pop into Selfridges, you can always do it online but you would have to pay delivery charges or click and collect. I am a huge fan of it!!
Jo Malone Red Roses Candle and Bath Oil// £22, £17 // Link
Jo Malone make one of the best gifts ever and I can't imagine anyone turning their noses down at a Jo Malone Gift. You all know I am a huge fan of anything Jo Malone and I have recently branched out from just their colognes to candles and bath oils. I feel like the Red Roses Candle is so perfect for Valentine's Day because Roses are synonymous with Valentine's Day/Love. I love this dinky candle as it's only a travel size but it burns so well, evenly and lasts for a good while. The rose fragrance is just the right amount and I love how it makes my room smell amazing. I recently added the Red Roses Bath Oil to my collection and I am seriously obsessed. How on earth haven't I tried one before? It's smells so beautiful and makes for a super indulgent bath. There is actually a lovely new pink design for the Red Roses Bath Oil and Fragrance and they are to die for!!
Ark Skincare Body Beautiful Conditioning Oil* //£35 // Link
Talking about Oils, how beautiful is this Ark Skincare Body Conditioning Oil? I first saw it on Ark Skincare Instagram and I was intrigued so you can imagine my sheer excitement when I received this. I have not used it a lot yet but I am very impressed based on my first few uses. It is made from oils including Sacha Inchi Seed Oil, Abyssinian Oil and Sweet Almond Oil but that's not all. It is further enriched with over 25 essential oils and spices which gives it a lovely spa-like fragrance (100% natural as well). Some essential oils and spices you would find include Rose, Jasmine, Mandarin, Lemon , Patchouli, Orange Flower, Myrrh and others. I wish I could describe how beautiful it smells but it's one of those oils that you need to smell yourself to understand the obsession. I love that it's versatile and can be used as a bath oil, body oil, hair oil/mask and a massage oil. It does not feel greasy at all and the natural fragrance lingers on after use in a sensual way. I particularly love that it has a pump so you can use it either straight from the bottle or with the pump for easy dispensing. I would be talking about it in future posts when I have tried it out more so keep your eyes peeled. It would make the perfect Valentine gift and it's really lovely (even down to the gift bag).
Molton Brown Gingerlily Gift Set* // £43 //Link
What's a gift without Molton Brown? It is an essential indulgent gift that would always leave an impression with whoever gets it. I have quite a little collection of Molton Brown goodies which I got as gifts from Molton Brown and I purchased a few of them. I am completely obsessed and I struggle to find any shower gel or body lotion that delivers the same results. The Molton Brown Gingerlily Gift Set would make a perfect gift for any woman in your life or for yourself. The Gift Set comes with a shower gel and a body lotion and they last for a good while even if you take a shower twice a day. The good thing is Molton Brown always do seriously amazing gift packaging so you don't have to do anything extra. I particularly loved the Christmas Gift Set which came with a mini Gingerlily Body Polish. I don't think this set is still being sold but you can always get the regular Molton Brown Gift Set complete with a red ribbon.
Paul and Joe Beaute Bath and Body Collection* // £42 // Link
I received this last year as it was part of their limited edition and I really like it. If you are into pamper days, you would love this set. It contains three indulgent body products including Bath Salts, a Body Wash (Soap) and a Body Butter. The packaging is to die for and I love how pretty it sits in my bathroom. I tried to look for more affordable links but they were all sold out. I know ASOS and Beauty Bay once sold it so it's best to keep an eye out for it. I feel it is a little ridiculous to spend £42 on it from Amazon when when the original price was £35 which is definitely more reasonable. I would look for other links but I could only find the Amazon one as available.Nevertheless, it's so pretty and I love how delicate the fragrance smells. It's super indulgent that I can assure you on.
Hourglass Ambient Ligting Edit Palette // £65 //Link
I feel this is the kind of gift that would score a guy very high points if his girlfriend/wife/girlfriend-to-be/fiancée is a makeup lover. Just look at it!! I think it is definitely one of the most beautiful makeup I own and I love it so much. It has already made a few appearances on the blog because I can't keep it away. The beautiful rose gold packaging makes my heart flutter every time I whip it out. It comes with- two ambient lighting blushes (Luminous Flush and Mood Exposure), two ambient lighting powders (Dim Light and Diffused Light), one Bronzer (Luminous Bronze Light) and one highlighter (Iridescent Strobe Light). It's a perfect palette for anyone who is new (or even familiar) with Hourglass and I am totally obsessed with it. It would make the perfect Valentine gift. If you want it, you have to hurry as it is quite difficult to get your hands on it now. I believe it is still available in Net-a-Porter which is where the man got it for me from.
Eyeshadow Palettes
I am a huge fan of eyeshadow palettes and I know I am not alone with this obsession. I feel like eyeshadow palettes are the perfect gift for many occasions. There is also ways a palette for everyone be it a makeup beginner or an expert, the beauty market caters for everyone. My first port of call is Zoeva who sell really affordable and impressive eyehadow palettes. They are very pigmented and there is a wide range to choose from. Two of my favourite (and only) palettes are the Cocoa Blend Palette and the Smoky Palette which are all under £20. The quality is so beautiful and I love the packaging so much. The second set of palettes I am currently loving are the Laura Geller The Delectables Eyeshadow Palettes *(£35). I have spoken about them in detail here if you want to check it out. I have two types- Shades of Cool* and Shades of Nude*. They are baked eyeshadows which can be used wet or dry with impressive pigmentation and lasting power. The last palette is the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette (£38) which I feel is s feminine and perfect for Valentine's Day. It is rose gold themed with all shades of pink eyeshadows which I love so much. I told you there is something for everyone!!
Yardley New Fragrance Launch // Link // £19.99 (special introductory price at £13.33)
I was so lucky to attend the launch of the Yardley Hermina Fragrance* which is such a beautiful fragrance. Honestly, you would never guess it is an affordable fragrance just by the bottle and fragrance. I would post a review shortly on this fragrance because it deserves one. The story behind the fragrance in itself is such a beautiful one and I love the name Hermina. Some of the notes in the fragrance include Fig, Peach, Black Pepper, Amber, etc and it smells so sexy and feminine. I really like it a lot and I know it would make a perfect gift. The best part is Yardley London also launched their 1770 Fragrance for Men* and I love this fragrance as well. Somewhere in my head I keep telling myself it is a unisex fragrance (and I know I can get away with wearing it). It also has a lovely bottle complete with leather detailing. It would also make a perfect gift for the man in your life as well if you are stuck at what to buy. Yardley London have a special introductory price at £13.33 which is such an amazing deal.
Overall Thoughts
Phew!! That was a long one and I did not expect it to be. I hope you have enjoyed this post and seen some gems to add to your wish list for Valentine or at some other time, perhaps a birthday or gift for a loved one. I had some more products but I don't want people to be bored. I have a few more posts on Valentine's Day since I have never done one so watch out for them this week. Have you tried any of these products? ..xx
