I was recently invited to my first blogger Christmas Event, which was such an amazing way to end the year, by one of my favourite brands- La Roche Posay. It was their annual Christmas Party which was held in Carousel, London and I can't think of a more befitting venue. I know I have said this before but La Roche Posay and their PR team- Dowal Walker PR just know how to transform any venue to an absolute masterpiece.
As expected it was a Christmas Themed event complete with Christmas Trees, faux snow, snow balls, lights and the whole works. Of course it was a blue/white themed Christmas similar to the La Roche Posay's branding/logo. It really looked spectacular and no amount of pictures could capture it well enough.
There was a DJ serenading us at the corner while a free bar was at the other end of the venue. It reminded me of chilled (not noisy bar) back when I was in Uni. Mind you, I was ( and still am) the annoying friend who always wants to go home early on a night out so I never went to many clubs. Anyway, I digress. I had a chance to catch up with all the lovely ladies from La Roche Posay. I love seeing them and having a real life chat as opposed to just emails! I also had a chance to meet with other bloggers and have a lil' chat.
The interesting part was having a sneak peel at their latest launch- La Roche Posay BB Blur*. I have tested it out briefly and would be talking about it later. I really like it but it's not my correct shade but using a darker powder makes it blend a little better. It is very different from other BB creams I have tried in the past. Other BB creams give me a dewy finish or a glowy finish (borderline oily finish) but this one gives a demi-matte almost velvet finish. The good news is you can pre-order it now from Escentual and it will be launched in January 2016 (I just saw it is discounted to £11.50!!). The bad news is there are only two shades (stay with me tho!!) in Fair Light and Light Medium. However, there are plans to include new shades in the future so it's really one to watch out for. I can only keep my fingers crossed for my correct shade some day.
The next product on display was the La Roche Posay Hydraphase Intense Serum* which I have used for more than a week and I am absolutely in love with it. It is a super hydrating serum which has long lasting effects on the skin. It contains Hyaluronic Acid and La Roche Posay Thermal Spring Water which really makes it such an effective serum. I would be posting a review on it soon. I was lucky to receive these two products + Serozinc* in the goody bag which is so generous of La Roche Posay.
My next stop was to have my photo taken against the beautiful Christmas background with the Christmas Trees, Faux Snow and Snow balls, etc. There was a Photo Booth which printed the pictures (and it was also automatically uploaded to Instagram). I always love having these Insta Photos because they serve as memories of some amazing events I have attended. There was also such a cute Post Box (it was white and looked very Christmassy). We were told to write down our favourite La Roche Posay Products on a post card and "post" it through the Post/Letter Box. I don't know who thought about this idea but I think it's such a genius idea. These products will also be sent to us when everything is sorted out. Amazing, isn't it?
Soon, it was time to leave and I was delighted to find out I could go home with the balloon attached to the Goody bag (don't even think about judging me). It was such a pretty balloon and to be honest, I haven't had a balloon in a long time so I was more than delighted to relive some childhood memories. One of the reasons why I love living in London is that no one really cares if you are doing anything odd/strange such as a full grown adult floating a balloon on a cool night. Even if anyone cared, I don't think I would have given a hoot because I just felt so happy that evening. I decided to take a nice long walk instead of getting the train. It really felt so relaxing and free just walking down, enjoying the cold weather and the beautiful city lights. I know it sounds super cheesy but that's honestly how chilled I felt that evening.
When I got the park, I released the balloon and I watched it fly high into the sky until I couldn't see it any more. Super silly I know but every once in a while it is so important to let the child in you out to have a good time. It also reminded me of all the good times and memories I spent with my Dad who I love so much. I think I had one of the best childhoods ever. Ok, I am going to stop now. As you can tell, I had a great time and I could not have asked for a better way to start the month of December and usher in the end of the year. A big Thank You to La Roche Posay and Dowal Walker PR for inviting me to a beautiful event as always. I hope you enjoyed this post. See you in my next post...xx
