Laura Geller is a US based beauty brand which has been sold in QVC UK for a while now and is also sold online on Cult Beauty, Feel Unique, Beauty Bay, Debenhams and most recently, House of Fraser. I was kindly invited to attend their launch in House of Fraser last month and I was quite excited about the event because there was also going to be a carnival show in addition to the launch. I made my way to House of Fraser Oxford Circus which is one store I have been frequenting in the past two months. The weather was so lovely that Saturday so I was in very high spirits. I always avoid going to Oxford Circus on weekends because it is absolutely manic but I actually quite enjoyed the buzz that day (maybe the weather made everything better).
We were shown a variety of products from the range and some of the products that stood out for me include the Laura Geller Delectable Eyeshadow Palette, Love Me Dew Lip Crayon, Baked Gelato Vivid Swirl Blush and the Brow Sculpting Marker. All the other products were equally amazing but these ones are top on my wish list because I saw them in action. I was kindly gifted some of them to test at home and I am obsessed with them. I was really impressed on the colour pay off particularly because the model who the makeup artist demonstrated on was dark skinned (darker than me) and all the products looked stunning on her. I love brands that take the time to cater to a wide range of skin tones.
Laura Geller Beauty is well known for their baked products which look so lovely particularly the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator (Gilded Honey) which I need to get into my collection. In my opinion, they make one of the best baked makeup products I have tried and they come in a wide range to choose from including their Baked Split Highlighter, Baked Colour Intense Eyeshadow Duos and Baked Gelato Vivid Swirl Blush.
The Laura Geller Pro Makeup Artists from the USA were around to tell us more about the products and do some demonstrations on the models. I really liked the makeup demo and the Makeup Artist was very happy to answer all the questions we had. It was such a relaxed event and everyone present felt free to ask any questions to which she provided excellent answers. We also asked her what her favourite products were from the range which was quite difficult for her to narrow down because all the products are amazing. Eventually, she narrowed it down to the Laura Geller Spackle Under Makeup Primer and the Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey.
Soon, it was time to pop downstairs to see the counter and I was delighted to check it out. The Laura Geller Beauty counter in House of Fraser (Oxford Street) did not disappoint at all as it is a true beauty haven. It is also located in a choice section of House of Fraser; just a little distance from the entrance and you really can't miss it. Of course, the counter was buzzing as people had mini makeovers and swatched various products. The Makeup Artists did an incredible job on all the people who stopped by for mini makeovers and I loved how they took their time. Usually, I find that some Makeup Artists may be in a rush when there are many people waiting but these ones gave everyone good attention. There were also quite a few Laura Geller Makeup Artists at hand so no one had to wait for too long at all and they acknowledged everyone waiting. I really liked the good customer service they had going on at the counters.
On the launch day, they also offered free drinks to everyone who stopped by which I thought was really cool!! There was some music playing and the tempo increased just before the carnival started. There were two or three shows on the day and I caught a glimpse of the first one just as I arrived and I was more than excited to watch the second one. There was even extended area for more makeovers and many people had their makeup done. I loved how they used the space to ensure everyone interested got a chance to see the Laura Geller makeup in action.
The lovely Carnival Costumers- Bajan Revellers and Lagnaiappe Mas were behind the carnival show and they looked spectacular. The music was so on point and it was an amazing experience just watching them sashay and dance across House of Fraser Oxford Street. They even went outside the store to take selfies with people on the street and I loved how cheerful they were. It has to be one of the most exciting and colourful events I have ever been invited to and I absolutely loved the atmosphere. I was so sad to leave but this event really brightened up my weekend.
I was also kindly gifted with a goody bag containing the Laura Geller Delectable Palette in Cool and the Love Me Dew Lip Crayon. and some other goodies. A big thank you to Laura Geller Beauty and the Mark McDonald Consultancy for organising such an epic event. I would be reviewing the Laura Geller Makeup products shortly as I have been testing them for a month now. I hope you enjoyed this post and I will see you in my next one....xx
