Body Shop Christmas 2015 Collection and Event
I was incredibly lucky to be invited for the Body Shop Christmas Event last week and it was held in their Soho Store, Oxford Street London. It was in the evening as usual and I was so glad I could attend. Although it was held in the Body Shop store, it was still beautifully decorated and they made ample use of the available space in there. Everything felt very Christmassy in there and I loved being part of it. I met some other bloggers I had met in other events and we all had a quick chat and hugs. You can find out about the entire Body Shop Christmas Collection here.
We were warmly welcomed by Body Shop Staff and offered drinks and canapés while we mingled and chatted away with other bloggers. Seriously, the store looked so beautiful and I know I would be back to make some purchases for Christmas/New Year. There was an opening speech followed by a presentation on the Body Shop ethos as a brand including some lovely videos. I hope they share these videos soon online because they were seriously inspiring. We were also shown the new Christmas Collection including the Frosted Plum, Glazed Apple and Frosted Cranberry Collections. They were all arranged round the store in the most beautiful way and I was not surprised at all because Body Shop do so well with presenting their products in a lovely way.
We were told about their giving back campaign called- Water Aid. Essentially, Body Shop would provide good clean water to a family in Ethiopia for one day for every purchase of their specially selected products. I believe these products have some stickers on them to let you know and you can always ask the Body Shop sales people to point them out if you are in-store. You can find them easily online. Majority of the Christmas Gift Collections are under the Water Aid scheme so it is like giving twice which is so lovely. I love brands who take out their time to help less privileged people and I always support them. It's also a good way to give back during Christmas if you are not sure of what Charity to support. I am a firm believer in supporting charities and I do that. My office even has a scheme where you can donate directly from your salary before it hits your account. I think that's such a brilliant way to give and that's one of the ways I support charities. Anyway, I digress, back to Body Shop.
As usual, I tried to take many photos so you can see; you all know I cannot be with my camera and not go crazy!! I also wanted to capture what Body Shop has on offer for Christmas so you can pop them on a wish list for yourself or as a gift for someone else. The traditional Christmas Collection includes the Frosted Plum, Frosted Cranberry and Glazed Apple. Each of these collections contain a Body Butter, Shower Gel, Lotion, Body Mist, Bath Bombs, Shimmer Lotions, Lip Balms, Soap, Hand cream, etc.
They all looked incredible but my favourite from the lot is the Frosted Plum Collection. Yes, I love purple which is why it was the first one to catch my attention. However, it smells so delicious and I love how it works with my Body Chemistry. Thankfully, I was gifted with various products from this particular range and I would be sharing them in another post. I was so thrilled!!
There are also some amazing sets of well loved Body Shop best sellers including the Body Shop Spa of the World Set, Oils of Life gift sets, etc. I am most excited about these gift sets especially the Spa of the World range (review here)because you all know I am obsessed with the ones I own. There are also gift sets from other ranges in the Body Shop which are absolutely worth checking out and very affordable. I
Of course, there were two Body Shop Advent Calendars which looked so tempting and filled with amazing Body Shop goodies. There are two types with different price tags (£60- the Green one and £80- the Red one) but they contain products worth £93.50 and more than £100 respectively. If you are planning get one of these advent calendars, this is certainly a good time because they are bound to be sold out pretty soon. I actually think the Red Advent Calendar (£80) seems to be sold out online as I can't find a link for it (check in-store for it if you are keen). Apparently, Body Shop was the first brand in the UK to launch an Advent calendar before other brands followed suit after it was a hit!! I know some people prefer to be surprised at the contents of their Advent calendar, so if you are, then close your eyes at the above picture which shows the content of the red Advent Calendar. I don't mind having an idea of what's inside though but I do like to be surprised.
As expected from Body Shop, there was several stations for us to get pampered including Makeup, Nail Bars, Massage stations and Skincare consultations. If you remember my blog post on London Fashion Week with Body Shop, I mentioned I wanted to get a massage but there was a long queue. This time around I was so lucky to get a slot so I finally had a massage. It felt so incredible and relaxing. Everybody who had a massage was like Wow!! I almost fell asleep because I was deeply relaxed and the lovely masseur seemed to know all my tension spots. I was fully clothed but the massage was so thorough and I was very, very impressed. Apparently, I have been very stressed which was why there was so much tension around my shoulders and neck. I honestly don't mind paying for this massage if they offer it at Body Shop stores because I really enjoyed it.
After the amazing massage, I wandered round the store to see what else was in stock. I was surprised to find that Body Shop had a Candle range. Where the hell have I been? They look so lovely and beautifully packaged. I can see these candles becoming an instant hit and the glass packaging would be perfect on my dresser (beauty blogger problems). I also spied a Men's Gift range which I quite like. I love how simple and masculine the packaging is. I find that some men don't like fancy packaging for beauty items because it looks too feminine but the Body Shop offering really looks like it would be a hit. It's a perfect gift and good way to get your man into skincare if he has been shying away from them.
How gorgeous are the Bath Sponges? Oh my goodness!! I was kindly gifted one of them and I can tell you now I have not used it yet. It's too cute to be used and I can't bear to subject it to the arduous task of cleaning my body. Maybe I would use it on Christmas Eve?!! They look so cheeky though!! I have the brown bear-like one and it looks so gentle. I know I'm crazy!! I had a really lovely time and made some new blogging friends. It's always such a pleasure to meet like minded bloggers who are so chilled and fun to be around. Soon, it was time to leave and I made my way onto the tube station back home.
I was kindly gifted with a generous goody bag containing products from the Body Shop Frosted Plum Collection and I adore all of them. I would share what I received in a separate post, perhaps include them in my Christmas Gift Guide Part 2 (check out Christmas Gift Guide Part 1 here) so watch out for it. I also loved the bag these goodies came inside as it's really sturdy and would be coming with me in my handbag in case I need to shop (seeing as shops no longer give out bags unless you pay 5p). A big thank you to Body Shop and the lovely team at Rakuten for inviting me for such a fabulous evening. What Body Shop Christmas Collection is your favourite?
*I was kindly invited to this Body Shop Christmas Event but I did not have to blog about it. Thank you to Body Shop UK for having me!! Affiliate links used above, read my full disclaimer here.
