I mentioned in my previous post yesterday that I attended quite a few events over the past few months. My hard drive is totally full of pictures so this week would be dedicated to all the events I have attended. I hope you guys don't mind at all; I am sure you don't :-). By next week, I should be back with regular blog posts. In the middle of last month, I was lucky to be invited to the House of Fraser Christmas Press Day. I know you are thinking why in the world are we talking about Christmas now (or in September which was when the event was held). In the beauty world, many events, edits, launches, etc are usually planned one season ahead. Christmas events are usually held in July so a Christmas event in September is not unheard of.
This year, House of Fraser's theme for Christmas is "Break the Rules" which I quite like because it is not what you would expect for a Christmas theme. It is centred around letting every individual play by their own rules. According to House of Fraser " if you want to party like a pro in edgy evening wear, love to push beauty boundaries and not conform to the norm, we have got it all wrapped up". With such a theme and statement, I was looking forward to seeing what was in stock. I am delighted to report that I was not disappointed at all as there was something for everyone- rule keepers and rule breakers alike.
I made my way to the House of Fraser Press Showroom in Central London and I was warmly welcomed by the lovely HoF ladies. The show room was slightly smaller than others I have seen but it made the venue feel cosy and very Christmassy (if there is a word like that). Of course, there was the standard nibbles and drinks for guests which was lovely. I particularly liked the infused water which was very refreshing.
The entire venue was beautifully decorated with various gift items ranging from Beauty, Women's Fashion, Men's Fashion, Home, Decor, Children's gifts, etc. There was just absolutely everything you can think of. I really liked how they utilised the space in the venue to have a little bit of everything.
Beauty
Of course, the first section I went to was the Beauty section because I was keen to seen any limited edition sets available. There were a few good ones including sets from Benefit, Grace Cole, etc. I always love Benefit sets because their packaging is to die for and they seem to put in even more effort during Christmas. I spied the beautiful Chanel No. 5 Perfume which I do need to get my hands on at some point. I love its classic fragrance and the bottle is so stunning as expected of anything from Chanel.
I also discovered a brand I haven't come across before (although I am sure they have been around for a while) and they are called Show Beauty who specialise in all things hair including hair fragrances, hair treatment oils, finishing sprays and dry shampoos. Their packaging is definitely one of classiest hair packaging I have ever seen and it does come with an accompanying price tag. There was a hair stylist at hand who did mini makeovers for guests at the Press Day. I tried some of the hair perfume and it smelled absolutely incredible and I think I may need to pop it on my wish list. I was glad to know it was also suitable for my afro hair and it did not feel drying at all. Love this brand!!
Of course, there was the House of Fraser Beauty Advent Calendar which looked incredible and larger than life as it was sitting comfy on a table. I did not get a chance to have a nosey but I am pretty sure it would be full of incredible goodies. I will find out more details about it and update this post.
There was also something for Men's beauty and I love this Kiehl's Facial Fuel Set. It's a lovely gift set and even if the man in your life is not into skincare, I don't think he will mind the packaging as it is a masculine one.
Women's Fashion and accessories
I did not take a lot of pictures of the women's fashion items because my camera lens was being very dodgy. However, I managed to get a few shots of some lovely evening dresses. I know Christmas season is the time for all the parties including work parties, school parties, family parties and proper fancy dinner parties. The dresses I saw were definitely suited for fancy dinner parties and they all looked so luxurious. Next stop was fashion accessories which I think were my favourite.
I spied this lovely Ralph Lauren bag in the most gorgeous blue shade. It's not the usual Christmas colour but I think it is one that can add some snazz to an otherwise boring outfit. There was also a beautiful Michael Kors Handbag in a pretty pink colour (not too pink though) and I love the gold detailing on it. I also found some lovely simple yet feminine PJs which looks perfect for lounging around the house during the holidays. Peep those cosy UGG Boots!!
Men's Fashion and Accessories
I was very partial when it came to Men's Fashion and I did not take too many photos. However, I could not resist snapping away at this cute Ted Baker Satchel. I am not even sure if it is entirely for men as it does look like it could be unsiex. I love satchels and the rich autumnal colours are totally me. I loved the classic Polo Shirts neatly folded near the satchel. There were also some other accessories including Belts, Wallets, Fit Bits, etc which would make amazing gifts and stocking fillers for that special man in your life (very cheesy statement, I know- I always roll my eyes when people use that phrase so I totally understand if you are right now)
Home ware
I have never been crazy about home ware but I think I may have changed my mind after viewing the beautiful pieces on display. Whoever laid the table that day deserves a medal!!. It looked incredible and it was so easy to photograph. Who would not want to have this beauty in their home if you have space for it? The crockery looked insanely beautiful with the gold, black and cream theme going on and their designs were exquisite. The wine glasses with gold rims looked so pretty as well. I loved it all!! There were also some kitchen accessories like the Kitchen Aid and a Coffee Maker which would make a perfect gift for any home maker you know.
Children's Gifts
I am so happy they included something for the kiddies and they looked so cute. I don't know too much details about children's toys and books per say but I know a lovely Teddy Bear when I see one. Everything looked so colourful including the books, games, toys all brought to life with the beautiful colourful Christmas Tree. There were also a selection of Board games at one corner of the room and it reminded me of how long ago it has been since I played any board game. I need to invest in a proper one soon.
Christmas Trees and decorations
I loved the selection of Christmas Trees available but I don't think I captured all of them. However, the one that stood out for me was the White Christmas Themed Tree. It looked so real and really illustrates what a white snowy Christmas should be like. I wonder if we would be getting any snow this year; I think it would be lovely for a change. There were also a selection of Christmas Tree decorations as well.
Soon it was time to go home and I was kindly gifted with a goody bag containing the gorgeous Giorgio Armani Si Perfume* and other goodies. I was so thrilled to finally get this fragrance in my stash as it has been on my wish list for so long. I already have a little post featuring it on my September Favourites but I do think it deserves its own post. That's pretty much it!. I hope you enjoyed the pictures in this post; I know there were a lot. You can check out House of Fraser's Christmas range here and in-store. A big Thank You to House of Fraser for inviting me to such a lovely event. Would you be checking out House of Fraser Christmas Collection?
