It’s that
time of the month where I share my favourites from the previous months and to be fair, I have just been loving all the
products I have featured in a previous Monthly Favourites post. However, there
are a few new entrants which I thought may be worth mentioning and I even
filmed a video to go along. The volume is a little bit off (and I seemed tired, I was though as I had made several attempts to film...hahaha) though it seemed
fine when I filmed it but I hope I sort it out soon. You can find a link here
to my October Favourites Video here and it would be awesome if you subscribedto my channel here. For those of
you who prefer to read a blog post instead of watching a video, I have a little
low down, say mini review, of all the products I featured below so let’s dive
in..
Neutrogena Visibly Clear Range: I am not sure why it took me so long to try the Neutrogena Visibly Clear range as it is one of the most effective skin care products I have tried and I absolutely love it. I picked up the Gentle Exfoliating Wash and the Oil Free Moisturiser which both work a treat on my blemish oily/combo skin. I have not experienced any breakouts at all which is pretty rare as I always have at least one or two esp when Mother nature rears her cute little head my way (annoying description, I know!!). The wash contains microbeads which do some gentle exfoliation to slough away any dry skin and the salicylic acid and lactic acid contents ensures my pores are well decongested. Best part is that there are on offer for 2 for £5 in Boots so I even picked up a back up.
Rimmel Just
Let it Go Makeup Remover: This has made a few good appearances on this blog and
it totally deserves it because it does such a good job in removing all my eye
makeup including waterproof mascara. I am totally impressed with it and it does
not leave any greasy feeling on the eyes; it is definitely my favourite drug
store eye makeup remover.
La Roche
Posay Micro Exfoliant Astringent Toner: The name says it all as it is a
chemical exfoliant (thanks to the salicylic acid content) which does a lovely
job of keeping my pores decongested and preventing any pimples/acne. It
contains alcohol so if you have sensitive skin you may want to be careful but I
honestly have not felt any stinging or drying feeling at all. This is my 2nd
bottle and I intend to keep repurchasing because my skin loves it.
Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil: I am sure you all saw this coming and I absolutely love this brow pencil (review here). It is a good dupe for the infamous Anastasia Brow Wiz and they have both been reviewed on this blog. I love both of them but the Soap and Glory version is half the price of the Anastasia version so my pocket definitely prefers it.
Collection
Brow Kit: Yeah, I am all about the brows this month. I picked up the Collection
Brow Kit which I feel in love with even though I still have my Sleek Brow Kit.
I just find that the shades are a little bit better and it does not have the
waxy/gel-like bit in the Sleek kit which I never got around to using. I find
that the texture of the brow powder is spot on and it also comes with a mini
brow mascara/gel which makes it amazing for travelling. I also use the brow
powders as eye shadows for my crease and smoky eyes (yeah, a girl has to have
multi tasking products) and they do a damn good job.
Eyeshadows: I
have really been into the eyes as well and I have purchased a few eyeshadow
palettes and pseudo eyeshadow palettes (aka Bronzers turned into eyeshadow
palettes). My favourite is the Seventeen Glow Bronzer which was originally a
bronzer but it didn’t quite show up on my skin so I tried it out as an
eyeshadow and I was like Wow!! The pigmentation is amazing and so is the
texture and wear time. I freaking love it and it was only £5. My MAC Eyeshadow
Quad and Duo have also been getting a lot of love and I use them even more now
as the season is changing (or has changed). I secretly think I prefer the A/W
season without the rain, of course. My MAC Eyeshadow Quad contains Cranberry,
Amber Lights, Sumptuous Olive and Antique while my Duo contains Cork and Rice
Paper. That’s it
folks. I would like to know what products you loved in October and if you have
a blog, leave me your link below as I am on the haunt for new blogs. See you in
my next post...x
